A Travel Picture Post

Since arriving back in Haiti I have had the opportunity to travel out of the greater
Port-au-Prince area to the provinces. Here are some pictures I took during my travels.

I traveled north and east almost to the Dominican Republic border. Those hills in the foreground are in the DR.

A colleague and I traveled with Tom Oosterhuis and Joe Kamphuis from the board of Christian Reformed World Missions to visit with churches in the Belladere area

One of the Christian Reformed Churches of Haiti we visited

People walk, ride donkeys or motorcycles from miles around to come to church Sunday morning

Sunday morning worship went on for 4 1/2 hrs. It was standing room only with the crowd spilling outside the building

I also traveled to the south of Haiti to see some schools damaged by hurricane Sandy. This one is leaning drastically in one direction.

All the children came out for a picture.

Sometimes it is hard to remember we live on a tropical island so it is always good to see the ocean.
